City records show the drive-thru coffee chain has requested a meeting to discuss plans for a new coffee stand at 8648 JW Clay Blvd., in University City.

The project would involve tearing down the existing site and building a 7 Brew “with two drive-thru-lanes and a bypass lane,” according to the filing. The proposed 1,800-square-foot shop would also have a dry storage area and 230-square-foot cooler.

CharlotteFive reached out to 7 Brew Coffee for more information on Friday and was awaiting a response.

The drive-thru beverage brand is known for its diverse menu of more than 20,000 drink combinations. That includes espresso-based drinks, like mochas and creamy lattes. Teas are also on the menu alongside smoothies, lemonade, energy drinks, shakes and sodas.

Drinks can be customized to your liking with the addition of flavored syrups, sauces, toppings and more, according to 7 Brew’s website.

Plans for the University City drive-thru come more than a year after parent company 7Venture, Inc. purchased a half-acre parcel at 7116 N.C. 73 in Denver, CharlotteFive previously reported. It marked the brand’s 14th North Carolina location and its first in metro Charlotte.

The company is also working on adding a location just across the South Carolina border in Indian Land, The Herald has reported.

More recently, 7 Brew made its Triangle debut with a new drive-thru in Smithfield, according to The Raleigh News & Observer. It also added 26 coffee stands across 21 states in July alone, the company said on Instagram

The popular coffee brand has been expanding rapidly and shows no signs of slowing down. Per a report from QSR Magazine, 7 Brew “has an eye-opening 437 projected new franchised outlets” already planned for 2026.

“Here’s to serving more smiles and continuing to Cultivate Kindness™ one cup at a time,” the company wrote.
