Mint Hill’s only craft brewery is closing soon. When to visit for ‘one last toast.’
Panzú Brewery is inviting the community for “one last toast” as it prepares to close its doors.

A post shared on the brewery’s social media pages on Wednesday announced its plans to close later this month after three years in downtown Mint Hill. A farewell celebration is set for Sunday, Sept. 20.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Mint Hill community for welcoming us, supporting us and giving up the opportunity to serve you,” management wrote. “Thank you for being part of the Panzú family and for all of the memories we created together. We truly appreciate you.”
A reason for the closure wasn’t immediately clear. CharlotteFive reached out to Panzú Brewery for more information on Thursday and was awaiting a response.
Pegged as a neighborhood gathering spot “for great food and cold pints,” Panzú serves craft beers alongside small plates packed with Latin and Caribbean flavor. Think: arepas, arroz con pollo, chicharrón and plantain burgers.
On the beers list, customers have their pick of New England and tropical IPAs, plus wheats, stouts and amber ales, CharlotteFive previously reported.

“Imagine yourself in a white wedding on a beach with light Latin and Caribbean music,” co-owner Rosa Marte de Pacheco said at the time. “We want people to feel relaxed.”
She and her brother Johan Marte, who are originally from the Dominican Republic, opened Panzú in 2023 as an ode to their late father — affectionately known as Papá Panzú.
“He had a big beer belly, and that’s what panzú means — big belly,” de Pacheco told CharlotteFive.
