A new botanical bar atop a Steele Creek hotel is opening this fall in Charlotte

A top-floor bar and restaurant bringing botanical cocktails, pizzas and shared plates is set to arrive in late fall in Steele Creek at a six-story hotel near Charlotte Premium Outlets that’s opening soon.

Cousins and co-CEOs Parimal Thakor and Krishna Deva of Maya Hotels envision Dear Charlotte as an immersive, garden-inspired atmosphere that also pays tribute to Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, known as a botanist and patron of the arts.

“Steele Creek has continued to grow, and we saw an opportunity to bring something more distinctive to this part of Charlotte,” Thakor said in a news release.

The restaurant, with a dining room that can hold 100 guests and a 1,744-square-foot patio for 100 more, is slated for the sixth floor at the Hilton Garden Inn Steele Creek-Charlotte, now accepting reservations starting Sept. 4.

“With Dear Charlotte, we wanted to create something beautiful, specific and unexpected in a part of the city that deserves a gathering place of its own,” Thakor added

Guests at Dear Charlotte will find a beverage program featuring eye-catching cocktails crafted with bright, floral flavor profiles.

An approachable menu featuring personal-sized artisan pizzas will also include shared plates, dips, salads and pizza-dough sandwiches, plus vegan-friendly options.

The team envisions the space as “a whimsical garden after dark, with layered botanicals, inkwell black millwork, teal zellige tile and arched backlit bar shelving,” along with chandeliers overflowing with reindeer moss.

Other details include a lush and airy 344-square-foot greenhouse space with room for up to 50 people, a floor-to-ceiling faux ivy arrival wall and a replica of a historical statue.

To set the tone, the bar and restaurant will include two DJ stations to create a “sonic identity that helps the space shift naturally from daytime gatherings to evenings, private events and in-house programming,” the release said.

“People rarely remember every detail of a night out. They remember how a place made them feel and who they were with,” Deva said in the statement.

“Every decision we made, from the music and lighting to the cocktails and service, was meant to give people another reason to stay a little longer, come back sooner and introduce someone else to Dear Charlotte.”
