Here are the nominees for The Observer’s boys’ high school football offensive player of the week after Week 1 of the season. Nominees come from games played from Aug. 20-22.

Jahmere Anderson, Hough: In a 15-10 win over SC state champ Rock Hill Northwestern, Anderson caught 6 passes for 104 yards and 2 TDs.
Smith Barlowe, Parkwood: In a 47-32 win over Piedmont, Barlowe completed 17 of 22 for 247 yards and three touchdowns. He ran 8 times for 79 yards and three rushing TDs.
Cole Cater, Providence Day: In a 49-13 win over Myers Park, Cater made his debut as the starting quarterback. The senior completed 17 of 20 passes for 267 yards and 3 TDs. He also had a rushing TD.
Jamison Causey, Providence: In a 24-21 come-from-behind win over Hickory Ridge, Causey was 3 for 3 on PATS, put 4 of 5 kickoffs out of the end zone and had a punt that stopped at the 1. He also had a 26-yard game-deciding field goal.
Tyson Douglas Brown, Corvian Community: In a 24-21 win over NCISAA runner-up Asheville School, Brown completed 21 of 27 passes for 280 yards and three touchdowns. He ran 3 times for 47 yards.
Lemar Grier, AL Brown: In a 42-10 win over Porter Ridge, Grier ran 22 times for 172 yards and three touchdowns. Brown’s offensive line helped Grier and his teammates accounted for 10 first downs and 346 total yards.
Niko Henderson, Butler: Henderson passed for 212 yards and 4 TDs in a 27-14 win over Olympic.
Levi Kerr, Marvin Ridge: In a 77-13 win over Cox Mill, Kerr completed 9 of 11 passes for 258 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Wyatt Lomax, Mount Pleasant: In a 35-6 win over Concord, Lomax ran 13 times for 130 yards and three touchdowns.

Xzavier Redmond, Mallard Creek: Redmond had 11 rushes for 108 yards and a touchdown in a statement 45-25 win at Rolesville Thursday.
Easton Roschke, Langtree Charter: In a 59-24 win over Highland Tech, Roschke completed 18 of 20 passes for 286 yards and a touchdown. He ran 4 times for 69 yards and a score.
Carter Stevens, Christ The King: In a 36-33 win over Metrolina Christian, Stevens had 3 catches for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns. He ran 2 times for 17 yards and another score. On defense, he had five tackles and two pass break-ups. He also had 40 return yards on special teams.
Ennis Stiles, JM Robinson: In a 28-2 win over Charlotte Country Day, Stiles ran 23 times for 152 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Brian Walker, Weddington: In a 49-17 win over Mooresville, Walker ran 7 times for 221 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Cooper Wise, Piedmont: In a 47-32 loss to Parkwood, Wise ran 12 times for 97 yards and a score and caught 9 passes for 88 yards and another touchdown.
