The bodies were found at 8 a.m. Wednesday at a home on Ryder Cup Boulevard in the Oakwood Hills Golf Community, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office said. The development is in Pinebluff, about a 75-mile drive southwest from downtown Raleigh.

“During the course of the investigation, Demetrius Louis Aggelis, 40, of Pinebluff, was identified as a suspect,” the sheriff’s office said in an Aug. 12 news release.

“Evidence obtained through the Flock Safety camera network, along with other evidence gathered in the case, played a significant role in identifying Aggelis. He is currently in custody and is being charged with three counts of murder and one count of first-degree burglary.”

The sheriff’s office has not yet released the identities of the victims, but court documents report the owner of the home is among the dead.

The killings were done with “malice aforethought,” a warrant says.

Investigators are not releasing details of how the three were killed, or if they have any connection to the suspect.

Court documents report Aggelis has a criminal history that includes assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.
