Que Onda picks Montford Park for its new flagship restaurant. When does it open?

The Mexican cantina concept from Charlotte-based Qué Hospitality will go up at 1515 Mockingbird Lane and is slated to open by February 2027, according to a news release sent to CharlotteFive.
It’ll mark Que Onda’s sixth location, joining existing spots in uptown, Plaza Midwood, University City, Matthews and Huntersville. The restaurant group tapped architectural and interior design firm Southwick for the “ambitious” project.
“While we have executed a ground-up build before for the latest Que Fresa, doing this for Que Onda is a major milestone for the brand,” Manny Flores, founder and CEO of Qué Hospitality, said in the release.
“Montford Park is one of Charlotte’s best dining corridors, and we are building a custom flagship restaurant that matches that energy,” he added.

The 4,100-square-foot space will seat nearly 230 guests across its dining room, bar area and outdoor patio. Sliding partitions between the indoor and outdoor dining areas will create an “open breezy atmosphere that the neighborhood will love,” Flores said.
The Montford Park restaurant will also be the first Que Onda to have private dining space with seating for as many as 50 people, according to the release.
The Charlotte-born chain has become a local favorite, known for serving up tacos, tortas, enchiladas and boozy Mexican brunch options, CharlotteFive reported. In 2023, readers voted it runner-up for best tacos in the city while sister concept Que Fresa Taqueria & Bar took the top spot.
Que Onda’s Montford Park location will serve lunch, dinner and brunch on weekends. Locals can also expect a happy hour menu.
