Is ‘Real Housewives’ coming to Charlotte? Here’s what we know

In a reel posted to Instagram on Saturday, news personality Morgan Paige shared some hints that the show could be headed to Charlotte.
The video included a clip from an interview where Paige asked “Real Housewives” host Andy Cohen about the future of the franchise.
“Maybe some new cities, and just more, more, more,” Cohen said.
Paige also pointed to a recent casting call seeking “Charlotte’s most fabulous women.” According to Paige, Shed Media, the agency behind the call was looking for “affluent women with enormous personalities.”
“Sounds like a ‘Housewives’ casting call to me,” Paige said.
NBCUniversal, Bravo’s parent company, and Shed Media have not responded to CharlotteFive’s requests for comment, but it’s not the first time “Real Housewives” rumors have surfaced in the Tar Heel State.
In 2012, a spokesperson from Bravo confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the show was not coming to Charlotte after a news report said the network was searching for “outspoken Charlotte moms between the ages of 28-45 to star in its latest ‘Real Housewives’ installment.”
And Charlotte has already been on Bravo’s radar: “Top Chef” filmed its 23rd season in the Queen City last fall, CharlotteFive reported.
There’s never officially been a “Real Housewives of Charlotte,” but that hasn’t stopped a few reality TV shows inspired by the franchise from making waves.
A locally produced reality show that debuted on YouTube in 2018 called “The Real Side Chicks of Charlotte” followed eight Charlotte women whose lives and relationships were tied to the show’s theme of being a “side chick” — a woman involved with a man who is already in a relationship.

The series leaned heavily into sex, relationship drama, jealousy, betrayal and scandal, following the women through parties, romantic entanglements and conflicts with one another.
The following year, “To Have and to Hold: Charlotte,” a series that followed five Charlotte-area couples as they navigated marriage, family, friendships, careers and the challenges that come with them, premiered on OWN.
The show offered a look at different stages of relationships, from financial struggles and parenting to intimacy issues and marital problems, while putting Charlotte’s Black couples and social scene at the center of the story, The Charlotte Post reported.
If Charlotte ever gets its own “Real Housewives,” Reddit users already have plenty of casting ideas.
Among the names mentioned were Liz Hilliard, founder of Hilliard Studio Method, and Laura Vinroot Poole, founder of luxury retailer Capitol and the daughter of former Mayor Richard Vinroot.
Toska Husted, the owner of Toska Spa & Facial Bar who has built an international celebrity clientele that includes members of the Kardashian family, was also mentioned, along with Chandra Janway, the wife of NASCAR star Jimmie Johnson.
Reddit users also suggested Fantasia Taylor, who rose to fame after winning “American Idol” and has deep ties to Charlotte, could bring a major entertainment name to the cast, as well as Vidya Gopalan, the Charlotte creator behind Queen City Trends with more than 4.7 million followers on TikTok.
