Hearing set on 110 Lake Norman townhomes planned near a CATS Red Line station
A public hearing is scheduled Tuesday in Huntersville on a Charlotte developer’s planned 110 townhomes near a busy intersection and a future Red Line commuter rail station.

The 2,000-square-foot homes by Veer Development LLC would rise on nine acres on the southwest corner of Old Statesville Road and Caldwell Track Drive in Huntersville, according to the developer’s application with the town.
That’s north of Sam Furr Road (N.C. 73) and west of Old Statesville Road.
The project, called Sam Furr Townes, would have 279 parking spaces.
The hearing was originally scheduled for Aug. 4, but the Huntersville Board of Commissioners, without discussion, unanimously voted that night to defer the hearing to 6 p.m. Sept. 1 at Town Hall, 14704 N. Old Statesville Road.

Deferrals are common when a developer requests more time to present a project.
The request would then go before the Huntersville Planning Board for a recommendation and later to the Town Board for a final decision. Those meeting dates haven’t been announced.
