Five of the people hurt in one of the vehicles were juveniles, according to a statement from Master Trooper Hannah Davidson of the S.C. Highway Patrol.
The collision happened before 3 p.m. on North Paraham Road between S.C. 55 and S.C. 557, according to the highway patrol and York County Sheriff’s Office.
A 2006 Ford Mustang headed south on Paraham Road lost control, crossed the center line, and struck a 2019 Kia SUV head-on, Davidson said in the statement.
Both drivers died at the scene, according to Davidson. Their identities have not been released by the York County Coroner.

The investigation into the fatal collision is ongoing.
