Bat-wielding man doused victims in bear spray, hit them with SUV, NC sheriff says
A man and woman report they were attacked in rural North Carolina by a bat-swinging man who doused them in toxic bear repellant, then hit them with his Chevy Tahoe, according to police.

It happened Wednesday at a home in the Stokesdale area of Rockingham County, about a 100-mile drive northeast from uptown Charlotte.
Investigators have not said what started the violence, which left both victims with injuries.
“The suspect also caused property damage at the residence by use of his vehicle,” the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office said in a Sept. 30 news release. “The victims were treated for their injuries by EMS.”
Timothy Seth Williams, 34, of Madison, was identified as a suspect, officials said. He was located later Wednesday, after someone reported a possible overdose at a home in Madison. That person turned out to be Williams, officials said.

Details of the attack in court document report Williams sprayed the man with bear repellant, struck him with a Chevy Tahoe, then tried to hit him twice more with the vehicle. The woman was also hit by the SUV, along with being struck with a bat and doused in bear spray, officials say.
Property damaged at the site included a Nissan Altima, the mailbox, the carport, the porch and landscaping, court documents say.
Williams has been charged with: two counts assault with a deadly weapon; assault on a female; simple assault; injury to personal property, and injury to real property, officials said. Bond was set at $20,000.
