Good Food on Montford will end its nearly two-decade run when its lease expires at the end of this month, Moffett Restaurant Group said in a news release. Axios Charlotte was the first to report the change.

As chef and founder Bruce Moffett steps away from the business, longtime MRG employee Lee Ann Dolcetto will take the reins to launch her own dining concept: Bittersweet.

Specifics about the forthcoming restaurant and its offerings remain under wraps. CharlotteFive reached out to Moffett Restaurant Group for more information Aug. 10 and was awaiting a response.

“I have always believed in setting up our loyal employees for success,” Moffett said of Dolcetto, longtime general manager at Stagioni and Sala.

“Lee Ann has done an outstanding job growing and managing our concepts over the years,” he added. “Now she is ready to develop her own brand in a space with proven appeal.”

Open since 2009, Good Food on Montford specializes in small plates with “a focus on local ingredients and global flavors.” Think: pommes frites, Korean beef and NC Trout alongside a curated menu of wines and more.

The rustic eatery also earned a James Beard Award nomination for Best New Restaurant.

Among other changes coming to MRG, longtime Charlotte hospitality veteran Tiffany Dunn will take over as general manager at Sala and Stagioni, the release said.
