Today, The Observer released it annual list of the top 25 football recruits in the state. The Gamecocks, in Columbia, have four in-state recruits in the class of 2027, more than any other school — and three of the four future South Carolina players are ranked among the top 10.
Duke, Florida, Georgia and Kentucky each have two N.C. recruits. North Carolina and N.C. State don’t have a top 25 in-state recruit this year.
In all, 16 of the top 25 are headed out of state. That includes the state’s top player.

East Lincoln’s Jaxon Dollar, the No. 1 recruit in North Carolina, is heading to Georgia.
Dollar, who’s 6-foot-5, 230-pounds, is the No. 2 tight end recruit in America and a top 30 player regardless of position.
Earlier this summer, Dollar was one of 19 athletes nationally to sign an NIL deal with Nike.
