Mendoza’s most recent win was $1 million in Jumbo Bucks, and he didn’t grant an interview while collecting his winnings at lottery headquarters on July 31.
The $10 ticket was purchased at the Circle K on South Horner Boulevard in Sanford and Mendoza beat odds of 1 in 1,596,996 to win the game’s top prize.
“He could choose to receive the prize as an annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000,” lottery officials said in an Aug. 3 news release. “He chose the lump sum of $600,000 and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $432,063.”

Mendoza didn’t reveal his plans for the money.
His previous win was in May, when Mendoza hit the jackpot in $100,000 Cash Payday, lottery officials said. The ticket was $30, and he bought it at the Fastee Mart on Lee Avenue in Sanford.
The prize came to $72,018 after state and federal withholdings, officials said.
Both Jumbo Bucks and $100,000 Cash Payday kicked off this year, indicating Mendoza has a penchant for newer scratch-off games.
