‘You won the jackpot!’ NC woman shocked when store clerk reveals her big win
A North Carolina woman said she was shocked when a gas station clerk revealed her big lottery win on a $5 ticket, NC lottery officials said Friday.

“She said, ‘You won the jackpot!’” Concord resident Christine Brown said when she claimed her top prize in the Rockin’ Bingo Fast Play game at lottery headquarters in Raleigh on Wednesday, according to a lottery news release.
“It still hasn’t hit me yet,” Brown said of her $519,318 jackpot.
She beat odds of 1 in 320,000, according to the Rockin’ Bingo game page.
The jackpot was $1.03 million when Brown bought her ticket at The Mills BP on Holden Avenue Southwest in Concord on her way home from work, officials said.
Buying a $5 ticket meant Brown received half of the progressive jackpot, lottery officials said.

She didn’t know what she had won at first, so she took the ticket to the clerk to find out.
“The clerk scanned her ticket, and her face lit up,” according to the lottery news release.
After taxes, she took home $373,962, officials said.
She will pay bills with part of her winnings, pay down her mortgage “and bring her children down to visit,” according to the news release.
