The “rolling domestic incident” happened Saturday in the Kinston area, and multiple people called 911, the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office said in an Oct. 11 news release.

“Janecia Amil Greenfield-Williams of Lenoir County was operating a vehicle southbound on Highway 258 for approximately 4.5 miles while her boyfriend was on the hood of the car,” the sheriff’s office said.

“Speeds are estimated to have reached up to 60 mph as Greenfield-Williams drove recklessly. Her 3-year-old child was also inside the vehicle.”

The car was stopped with assistance from the Kinston Police Department, allowing the man to safely climb off the hood, officials said. He was assessed at the scene and found to be uninjured, the sheriff’s office said.

An investigation revealed Greenfield-Williams, 23, was driving on a revoked license and the car had a fictitious tag, police said.
