Reward grows for tips in notorious Charlotte shootout that left 4 people dead

On Monday, Gov. Josh Stein announced a reward of up to $25,000 for tips, in hopes someone among the estimated 400 bystanders will lead detectives to the shooters.
A reward of up to $30,000 was previously announced by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The shootout happened on June 22, 2020, along the 1800 block of Beatties Ford Road in west Charlotte, officials say.
“More than 150 rounds were fired into a crowd of approximately 400 people attending a Juneteenth celebration,” the FBI said in a news release.

“Investigators believe more than one person fired into the crowd. Three people died of gunshot wounds and another was killed by a car fleeing the scene.”
The victims have been identified as: Jamaa Cassell, 39; Christopher “CJ” Gleaton, 28; Dairyon Stevenson, 31, and Kelly Miller, 29, officials said.
“We must use every tool at our disposal to pursue justice for victims,” Stein said in his Sept. 14 news release. “I urge North Carolinians who have information about this case to contact local law enforcement and help us hold the murderers accountable.”
