One dead, one injured by gunfire in Charlotte subdivision at 1 am, CMPD says
Gunfire in the middle of the night killed one person and injured another near north Charlotte’s Firestone Park, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

It happened around 1 a.m. Sunday in the 3600 block of Bardot Drive, which is along the park’s eastern border, maps show.
“Upon arrival, officers located one victim with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by Medic,” CMPD said in a news release. “An additional individual was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

Details of a suspect and motive have not been released.
The shooting is one of two homicides that were reported at 1 a.m. Sunday in different parts of the city. The other occurred during a robbery on North McDowell Street in uptown. Investigators have not said the two killings are related.
