Hough High holds on to No. 1 in NC Super 25 after dominating 3-game stretch
After three weeks of the season, one thing is pretty clear: The Hough Huskies are the best high school football team in North Carolina and a bona fide No. 1 in The N.C. Super 25 poll.

To start the season, Hough has played one of the best teams in South Carolina (Rock Hill Northwestern), one of the best public school teams in North Carolina (Raleigh’s Cardinal Gibbons) and the best private school team in North Carolina (Providence Day).
Those three teams have netted one offensive touchdown and 16 points against the Hough defense. Cardinal Gibbons scored a touchdown on an interception return.

Providence Day, ranked as high as No. 29 nationally last week, lost 30-3 at Hough on Friday but remains No. 2 in the Super 25. Four new teams are also in the rankings this week: No. 16 East Forsyth, No. 17 West Charlotte, No. 19 South Point and No. 24 JH Rose.
