— Hough got its fifth straight shutout, rolling past Myers Park and to a Greater Charlotte conference title.
— West Mecklenburg got its first win of the season, and first-year coach Randall Ingram got his first win. The Hawks beat Hopewell 17-9. West Meck had lost three games by a total of 15 points before Friday.
— Providence Day, a top 50 nationally ranked team, blew out Charlotte Christian, 49-7, to win the Big South conference title. The Chargers won their sixth straight game.
— Providence, and first-year coach Perry Osbey, held off an upset bid from Ballantyne Ridge to win, 28-21, and claim a share of a second straight Southwestern 7A/8A conference championship. The Panthers have now won four in a row after losing four straight.
— Chambers and Mallard Creek avoided a pair of trap games Friday ahead of their Meck Power Six conference championship game next week in north Charlotte. Chambers beat West Charlotte, 35-7, on the road, and Mallard Creek won at Butler, 35-3.
— Berry upset Olympic, 9-7, for its fourth win of the year. The Cardinals (4-5), who have won two of their last three games, haven’t won this many games in a season since going 5-5 in the 2021 season. Berry was 0-10 a year ago.

Hough QB Ethan Royal threw five touchdowns, three to senior receiver Jahmere Anderson, and the Huskies routed Myers Park, 35-0, in the Greater Charlotte conference championship game.
Hough (9-0), ranked No. 1 in every N.C. statewide poll and as high as No. 11 in the nation, jumped out to a 14-0 lead when Anderson connected on passes of 35 and 12 yards in the first quarter.
The Huskies scored three more times in the second quarter. Royal threw scoring passes to Anderson, Mason Pearsall-Brown and Joshua Autry.
In the second half, with a running clock, Royal hit Anderson with an 80-yard scoring toss, but the play was called back by a penalty.
Hough ended a six-game win streak for Myers Park (6-3). The Huskies also recorded their fifth straight shutout heading into a regular-season finale next week at Hopewell.
