Having initially committed to play college basketball at N.C. State, Dillingham changed his mind in March 2022 and chose Kentucky.
After averaging 15.2 points during the 2023-24 season with Kentucky, when he was named second team all-SEC. He entered the 2024 NBA Draft where San Antonio selected him with the No. 8 overall pick. The Spurs moved him to Minnesota in a draft night trade.
