Call for welfare check reveals body near busy Charlotte intersection, CMPD says
A 911 call to check on a man lying in a parking lot revealed he had died after being shot multiple times, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

The discovery was made around 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the 3100 block of Milton Road, near the intersection with North Sharon Amity Road. The area is in northeast Charlotte.
Witnesses reported the man had been involved in an altercation with another person prior to being shot, CMPD said in an Aug. 20 social media post. It’s assumed he walked about 200 yards before collapsing in the parking lot.

His identity has not been released.
The incident happened at an intersection that is a mix of businesses and apartments, maps show.
CMPD has not identified a suspect. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 704-432-8477 (TIPS) and speak directly to a detective. Anonymous tips can be offered through Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
