With all of that crowding onto your calendar, who has time to make dinner? Pizza won’t cut it every night, either.
Thankfully, some Charlotte restaurants have come to the rescue, making it easy to order affordable family meals that you can pick up or get delivered and keep hungry tummies from turning straight-up hangry.
Here’s a few to check out:
Location: 1705 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205
Plaza Midwood’s El Malo, the Southern California–inspired sister restaurant to Mal Pan in South Park, offers customizable taco Family Packs serving four to six people ($65) or eight to 10 ($130).
What you’ll get: Corn and flour tortillas, two proteins, onion, cilantro, escabeche (pickled onion and habanero), cabbage, lime, radish, house-made salsas, rice, beans and chips.
How to order: Pickup or delivery through El Malo’s website and third-party delivery platforms.
Locations:
Illios Crafted Greek, the CharlotteFive Readers’ Choice finalist for best Greek food, offers a family meal that feeds three to four people ($44.95).
What you’ll get: Your choice of Greek rotisserie chicken, lamb gyro, pork souvla, chicken souvla, falafel or Atlantic salmon (+$12); two large sides, choice of Greek, Ilios or seasonal salad; pita; and one sauce.
How to order: Online by location for pickup or delivery.
Locations:
In SouthPark or South Charlotte, Little Mamas offers family-sized portions of chicken or eggplant Parmesan ($53 and $32, respectively) that feed two to three people — and that’s likely to stretch further with little ones. Its Lake Norman location isn’t yet open, but it’s coming soon.
What you’ll get: Orders will vary, depending on your preferences. Family-size portions of sides ($6 or $12) are available, too.

Location: 4625 Piedmont Row Dr # 115-D, Charlotte
In SouthPark, Mal Pan offers Family Packs designed to serve four to six people ($70) or eight to 10 ($140) if you have a large family or want to double up for leftovers. What you’ll get: House-made corn and Sonoran-style flour tortillas, a choice of two proteins, cilantro, escabeche (pickled white onion), lime, radish, signature salsas, rice, beans and chips — all of which are seed-oil-free.

Location: 601 S Kings Dr AA, Charlotte
In Midtown/Cherry, Mama Ricotta’s — the OG location that spunoff Little Mama’s — you can pick up a variety of family-sized pastas and other entrees ($25-$56).
What you’ll get: Order will vary, depending on your preferences, but the family-sized chicken dishes come with five chicken breasts. Family-sized salads and appetizers ($19-22) are also available.
How to order: Online for pickup only.
Locations:
New York Butcher Shoppe locations around the Charlotte area stock fresh meat, desserts and other pantry staples in addition to stocking refrigerator and freezer cases full of quick meals such as pastas, veggie sides, dips and sauces.
What you’ll get: Heat-and-eat dinner options include mac and cheese in classic or gouda bacon options ($25.99), broccoli and cheese casserole ($35.99), beef stroganoff over egg noodles ($49.99) and baked beef manicotti ($27.99).
How to order: Walk in and browse the refrigerator and freezer cases.
Location: 4418 Monroe Rd, Suite A, Charlotte, NC 28205
Thoughtful Baking’s new brick-and-mortar location in Oakhurst is a great spot to stop in for a family-sized pot pie ($32) and browse desserts at the same time.
What you’ll get: A family-sized pot pie comes with a scratch-made butter crust and a filling of carrots, onions, celery, peas, potatoes, herbs and local pasture-raised chicken.
How to order: Order online for pickup.
Locations:
Through September, all Yafo Kitchen locations are offering Family Meal packs that feed three to four people ($35). Larger family meals with more options are also available.
What you’ll get: Your choice of Greek lemon or shawarma chicken with hummus, cumin Jasmin rice, Greek salad, two sides, Angel pita and up to three sauces or dressings.
