Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Board of Education members on Tuesday released documents providing insight into an investigation into now-fired Superintendent Crystal Hill.

The decision to release documents came during a whirlwind meeting that featured Chair Stephanie Sneed resigning from her leadership role before a scheduled vote to oust her. However, Sneed didn’t address her resignation during the meeting, the board didn’t vote on a new chair during the meeting and board member, Shamaiye Haynes, was the first to mention it.
Hill was at Tuesday’s meeting but left early on. She was fired in a 5-4 vote. Deputy Superintendent Melissa Balknight sat in the superintendent’s chair during the meeting.

Below are two documents.
One document is two pages and talks about Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ reasoning for releasing information.
The second document is an 18-page report about the investigation. Several board members said they hadn’t seen the 18-page report before Tuesday’s meeting and wanted to fully review it before deciding whether to make any changes.
