$10 meal deals, special offers celebrate Charlotte’s Latin restaurants
Nicaraguan nacatamales, Salvadorian pupusas, Caribbean lattes and more are hitting the spotlight in Charlotte with budget-friendly deals.

Taste the Heritage CLT, a dining program supported by Charlotte-based Indy Media, aims to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month between Sept. 15 and Oct. 15 while showcasing some of the city’s Latin-owned restaurants, cafés and food trucks.
Diners can browse participating restaurants and find special offers to explore Latin cuisines, then show support for the locally owned small business they visited by tagging #TasteTheHeritageCLT on social media posts.
Taste the Heritage CLT’s website allows you to browse by neighborhood or cuisine type, and includes details on dishes and offers.

Other ways to celebrate include the free Hola Charlotte festival along North Tryon Street in uptown Charlotte on Oct. 3 from noon- 7 p.m., featuring a cultural village representing 15 Latin countries, live music, dance, art and food.
Last year, organizers canceled the Hispanic Heritage Festival of the Carolinas slated for September at Truist Field after Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids in Charlotte to ensure safely “in response to the current political climate surrounding immigration in the country.”
Plans originally called for the festival to return in 20206, but no announcements have yet been made, and a representative for Truist Field confirmed the event has not been scheduled there.
