Mother, son fatally shot in Catawba County domestic situation, sheriff says
A mother and son were the victims in a domestic fatal shooting inside a home in Catawba County Wednesday night, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Catawba County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home at 10:26 p.m. on Dover Street in Claremont after a 911 call about a shooting.
The shooting occurred inside a home of a family member out of town, spokesperson Dan Hoyle said in an email.

The pair were found dead from gunshot wounds, the sheriff’s office said.
The identities of the deceased have not been released and investigators are looking into the circumstances around both deaths, the sheriff’s office said.
