Natricia Ann Wright was jailed Thursday on charges of involuntary manslaughter and felony child abuse, according to a Monroe Police Department news release. She remained jailed Saturday on a $750,000 secured bond, jail records showed.

Officers responded to Wright’s home on May 18 after receiving a call about an unresponsive infant, police said. The infant was 2 months old, according to an arrest warrant.

“Officers immediately began life-saving efforts until medical personnel arrived,” according to the department’s news release. “Despite those efforts, the infant died.”

Police detectives “have spent nearly three months carefully working to understand exactly what happened and to make decisions based on facts and evidence,” Bolen said.
