Concord just gained a new neighborhood coffee shop. Meet the 18-year-old owner.

Locals in search of their daily caffeine fix can grab a latte, chai tea and more at a new coffee shop now open in Concord.

Selah Coffee House debuted on Aug. 8, in the city’s Jackson Park community, according to social media posts. The space at 1115 Old Charlotte Road was most recently home to Allegiance Coffee, which closed in late April.

“Thank you to everyone who showed up and supported this special day!” owner Saralyn Hayes, 18, wrote on Instagram. “Your presence, kindness and patience meant the world! Excited to finally serve this community of mine.”

Hayes, a recent high school graduate, drew on her Christian faith and her previous work with coffee to launch the neighborhood café, BusinessDebut first reported. Coffee lovers can expect a “Christ-centered” hangout with plenty of comfy seating, whether you plan to stay a while or pop in for a quick pick-me-up.

“The Lord just really put it on my heart to provide a place for people to come and feel the love of Him, and to just rest and fellowship and drink coffee,” Hayes told the outlet.

CharlotteFive reached out to Hayes for more information Tuesday, Aug. 11, and was awaiting a response.

Selah Coffee House is already a hit with locals, and early online reviewers raved about the handcrafted coffees, friendly service and beautiful decor. The menu also includes teas and refreshing lemonades made with house-made syrups.

Hayes’s personal favorite? The salted maple coconut iced latte. If you’re craving a snack, there are a few assorted pastries, too.

Selah Coffee House is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m.-3 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
