Woman arrested on a murder charge in killing of a man in Charlotte, police say
Police arrested and charged a woman with first-degree murder Friday in the July killing of 33-year-old Corey Barnard in Charlotte.

Barnard was shot July 14 in the 1400 block of Eastcrest Drive, off Briar Creek Road in east Charlotte. Medic pronounced him dead at the scene around 7 p.m., according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department news release.
Police are not saying what prompted the shooting.
Police in July arrested and charged 28-year-old Cornelius Lamar Butler with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon, and 35-year-old Lashaundra Jackson with accessory after the fact of a murder.

Police said they served Jackson in jail Friday with the first-degree murder charge after uncovering “additional evidence that she knew about the plan to carry out this homicide.”
