Biscuitville again ranks No. 1 on a list of the nation’s best fast-food restaurants to grab a morning meal. The chain holds the crown for the fourth straight year after USA Today’s 10Best invited readers to pick their favorites.

“Seasoned editors teamed up with a panel of experts to compile a list of their top choices for a fast, satisfying morning treat,” 10Best wrote in its Wednesday, July 15 report. “Then, our readers voted for who swiftly serves up the best breakfast.”

On the resulting list of readers’ choice award winners, Biscuitville reigned supreme. Beyond breakfast, the restaurant also ranked No. 3 on a separate 10Best list of the most-loved regional fast-food chains.

As in past years, the chain received nods for its namesake biscuits, which it makes every 15 minutes. But the praise didn’t end there.

“Biscuitville’s fresh-baked biscuits can be enjoyed a number of ways, from simple bacon, egg, and cheese or fried chicken biscuits to more elaborate breakfast sandwiches like their spicy chicken & honey biscuit,” 10Best wrote in its report. “With breakfast platters and sides of grits, hash browns, or country gravy, plus indulgent sweet treats like their blueberry muffin, it’s no wonder folks return again and again.”

Biscuitville got its start more than 50 years ago. Today, the chain is headquartered in Greensboro and has over 85 restaurants in the Carolinas and Virginia, according to its website and LinkedIn profile.

Biscuitville wasn’t the only North Carolina restaurant to feel the love. Charlotte-based Bojangles landed the No. 8 spot on the list of the nation’s top places to eat fast-food breakfast.

Across the country, here are the restaurants that made it into the top five on that list:

Meanwhile, Midwest-based sandwich restaurant Runza was named the No. 1 best regional fast-food chain in the United States.

In the past, 10Best has told The News & Observer it doesn’t share the number of people who vote in its contests. Voting takes place over the course of a month.
