The Houston-based budget carrier began twice-weekly service between Concord-Padgett Regional Airport and Indianapolis International Airport, and twice-weekly service between Concord and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. According to Avelo, it’s the only carrier offering nonstop service on either route.

The airline now has eight nonstop destinations from Concord. The other six are: Albany, New York; New Haven, Connecticut; New York/Long Island, New York; Orlando/Lakeland, Florida; Rochester, New York; and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy said the new routes expands options for local travelers

“Our commitment to the Charlotte region is unwavering as we continue to deliver affordable fares, a convenient travel experience and industry-leading reliability,” Levy said in a statement. “And we’re just getting started, with continued growth and more destinations to come.”

Avelo is marking the launches of the routes by offering a buy one, get one 50% off promotion on round-trip base fares booked through June 30, for travel between June and December. Travelers can access the promotion using the inaugural promo codes “IND50” and “CLE50” when booking new itineraries on AveloAir.com.

Since launching in April 2021, Avelo has carried more than 9.6 million passengers on more than 76,000 flights and now serves 34 destinations across 14 states and Puerto Rico, according to the airline.

Avelo began its operations in Concord in 2024. The company announced in January its long-term commitment to the Charlotte region. The strategic shift also included the closure of its bases at Wilmington and Raleigh-Durham’s airports.

Avelo is the third airline to operate out of Concord-Padgett, joining Allegiant Air and Sun Country Airlines at the single-runway facility.

The airline has extended its flight schedule through March 2, 2027, which will allow travelers to plan for trips in February and early spring.
