Info about the dangerous insects<\/a><\/p>\n<p>North Carolina Department of Transportation will award a contract for the stretch from Brawley School Road to N.C. 150, Mooresville Water Resources Director Kevin Blayton said.<\/p>\n<p>A contract will be awarded in 2027 for the other part of the road, from Brawley School Road to Interstate 77 exit 33 at the lake, Blayton said.<\/p>\n<p>Thel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nc-eminent-domain.com\/latest-projects\/williamson-road-widening\/#_R-5100B\" rel=\"Follow\" target=\"_blank\">$52.6 million project<\/a> will expand all of Williamson to four lanes and include a median and sidewalks, according to the state\u2019s plans.<\/p>\n<p>NCDOT aims to reduce congestion and make the road safer for drivers and pedestrians, the plans show.<\/p>\n<p>Blayton updated commissioners on the project after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mooresvillenc.gov\/government\/departments\/administration\/town_manager.php\" rel=\"Follow\" target=\"_blank\">Town Manager Tracey Jerome<\/a> said the town received calls about what appeared to be construction on Williamson Road along the stretch from Brawley School Road to exit 33.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/charlotterelocationguide.com\/?p=880\">Greg Biffle\u2019s ex-wife sues driver\u2019s estate, pilot\u2019s estate for wrongful death<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou will see, if you travel on Williamson now, there\u2019s been a lot of activity there,\u201d Jerome told the board. \u201cIt\u2019s NCDOT. They\u2019re doing utility relocations there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Duke Energy and other companies are moving utilities away from the road for the expansion, Blayton said.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t immediately known when work on both stretches will finish.
