A driver died at a hospital<\/a> days after he was injured in a head-on wreck in east Charlotte, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Friday.<\/p>\n

Roosevelt Davis III, 55, was making a U turn in a Kia Forte compact sedan when he collided with the 23-year-old driver of a Kia Soul subcompact SUV, police said.<\/p>\n

The cars collided in the 6100 block of Hickory Grove Road<\/a> just after 9:30 p.m. Monday, May 18, according to a CMPD news release. That\u2019s near the intersection with East W.T. Harris Boulevard.<\/p>\n

The drivers were hospitalized with what CMPD officers described at the time as non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not said what changed in Davis\u2019 condition or why he died. Davis lived in Charlotte, public records show.<\/p>\n

Police asked anyone who saw or has information about the crash to call CMPD Detective M.R. Pressley at 704-432-2169, extension 2, or the Charlotte Crime Stoppers anonymous tips line at 704-334-1600.<\/p>\n
