Here\u2019s what to know<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The crash happened April 21.<\/p>\n<p>The woman who died on May 13 was 52-year-old Vandita Mehta, according to a police news release. The department has not released the officer\u2019s name.<\/p>\n<p>As the investigation continues, the officer has been placed on paid administrative leave while a separate internal investigation is underway, which is standard, according to CMPD.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/charlotterelocationguide.com\/?p=507\">How a red pot became the symbol of a new Southern-inspired uptown restaurant<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The crash happened at the intersection of Pineville-Matthews Road and Carmel Road. At the scene, police found a CMPD Ford Explorer and a Honda Odyssey with heavy front-end damage.
