Packard Tavern, Charlotte\u2019s newest spot for good food and good company, finally has an opening date<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Starting Monday, May 18, customers can enjoy contemporary American fare over craft cocktails and more at veteran restaurateur Paul Manley\u2019s new eatery in the heart of uptown.<\/p>\n

Tucked inside the historic Packard Place building<\/a>, expect \u201ca true tavern experience\u201d and \u201cwelcome respite … for locals and travelers alike,\u201d according to a news release sent to CharlotteFive. Doors open at 4 p.m.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the latest concept from Manley\u2019s High Tide Hospitality<\/a> group, which includes Sea Level NC and Ace No. 3 burgers.<\/p>\n

Packard Tavern will have a \u201csmall but well-appointed\u201d food menu featuring short ribs, lobster pappardelle, chicken Packard salad and of course, a premium tavern burger.<\/p>\n

Other menu highlights include:<\/p>\n

On the drinks side, mixologist Azure Cassidy has crafted a beverage program that\u2019s \u201csimple, yet exceptional,\u201d according to the release.<\/p>\n

The 4,800-square-foot restaurant will take over a portion of the first floor at Packard Place, an old car showroom built by James Ward Packard in the 1920s. The space includes a 90-seat dining room and bar area, plus two private dining areas: one for smaller groups, and the other for parties of 30-plus.<\/p>\n

\u201cHospitality is more than a well-executed dish or balanced drink,\u201d Manley said in the release. \u201cIt\u2019s the warm reception at the host stand, it\u2019s the server guiding you beyond the menu, it\u2019s the leadership recognizing more than just special occasions.\u201d<\/p>\n
