Isolated flooding is possible in the Charlotte region Wednesday night through Friday as a slow moving cold front<\/a> ignites three days of relentless rain, the National Weather Service says.<\/p>\n

The \u201cmoist and unstable\u201d front will settle over the area Wednesday afternoon, resulting in rain chances of 70% to 90% through Saturday night, forecasters say.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeveral rounds of thunderstorms<\/a> will cross the area (Wednesday) and Thursday. This could lead to heavy rainfall and isolated flooding. An isolated severe thunderstorm is also possible with damaging winds the main threat,\u201d the NWS reported Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe storms may repeatedly move over the same areas both days.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wind gusts near 30 mph are possible Wednesday, accompanied by cooler temperatures that will drop lows to around 70 degrees through early next week, forecasters say.<\/p>\n

The heaviest rain will fall along the stalled frontal boundary<\/a>, with more than 2 inches possible in some areas, creating a risk for flash flooding, forecasters say.<\/p>\n
