A new coffee concept taking shape in Concord hopes to bring living room vibes to the city\u2019s downtown district.<\/p>\n

1122 Coffee Company<\/a><\/b> signed a lease this week for ground-level retail space at NOVI Flats<\/a>, a luxury mixed-used apartment community in the heart of downtown Concord, according to a news release sent to CharlotteFive.<\/p>\n

The 643-square-foot shop plans to open by September.<\/p>\n

It marks an exciting new venture for sisters Kayla McBride and Karlee McBride-Webber<\/b>, both of whom have made their mark in the world of women\u2019s sports. McBride is a WNBA player for the Minnesota Lynx<\/a>, and McBride-Webber is a former NCAA Division I basketball player<\/a> for the Indiana Hoosiers.<\/p>\n

Now, the siblings are teaming up on a neighborhood coffee shop inspired by their childhood home. The name itself draws on the address of the home they grew up in.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur idea for 1122 Coffee Company is to create a one-of-its-kind destination where people can truly connect, relax, and build lasting friendships,\u201d McBride-Webber said in the release.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith downtown Concord growing and becoming such a vibrant community, our space at NOVI Flats gives us the perfect spot to bring our vision to life and become a hub of the local community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Concord\u2019s downtown district is also home to another sister-led caf\u00e9: Press & Porter Coffee & Pour House<\/a>, which debuted in July 2019.<\/p>\n

Specific details about 1122 Coffee Co. and its offerings remain under wraps, but recent videos shared on Instagram hint at classic coffee and teas. Think: vanilla chai lattes and iced blueberry matcha topped with blueberry cold foam.<\/p>\n

CharlotteFive reached out to 1122 Coffee Company for more information and was awaiting a response.<\/p>\n
