“My fianc\u00e9e has read all the books, so she actually kind of told me about them when she read them. I actually remember her reading, specifically, The Score <\/i>one time,” Kalyn told Pedestrian TV<\/a> in a May 2026 interview, referring to Dean and Allie’s literary love story. “I remember I kept looking at her and she’d read the book, but she’d always be [glancing over at me]. I’m like, \u2018What are you reading?’ She’s like, \u2018Oh, nothing.'”<\/p>\n

The actor continued, “She’s been a huge player and motivating me to get there and get here right now. So, yeah, it’s really, really, really, really cool.”<\/p>\n

Kalyn and Lovatsis made their Instagram debut in 2017 – their fifth anniversary as a couple.<\/p>\n

“Five years later and I still love you more than ever \ud83d\ude0c<\/span>,” Lovatsis wrote via Instagram<\/span><\/a> in January 2017, sharing a throwback pic of the pair kissing.<\/p>\n

Kalyn, completed with a blond dye job, brings Dean to life on Off Campus<\/i>, the Prime Video series adapted from author Elle Kennedy<\/b>‘s hockey romance series.<\/p>\n

“From the moment I got the audition, I just felt like I knew this person. I was so confident in what I wanted to bring to this part,” Kalyn told Elite Daily<\/span><\/a> in May 2026. “My fianc\u00e9e read the books a long time ago, and her favorite character was Dean. So when they announced this show, she told me I had to audition. She said, \u2018There’s no other option: You have to be Dean.'”<\/p>\n

Lovatsis got her wish, with Kalyn scoring the role.<\/p>\n

Dean and Allie (Mika Abdalla<\/b>) take center stage in Kennedy’s third Off Campus <\/i>book, The Score. <\/i>The start of their love story is also featured in season 1 of the Prime Video series, which was based on The Deal.<\/i><\/p>\n

“Even though we do tease Dean and Allie a lot earlier than people expect, you are still left wanting a lot more,” Abdalla exclusively told Us Weekly<\/i><\/span><\/a><\/i>in May 2026. “That’s something I’m really excited about. You just want to see more.”<\/p>\n

The Deal <\/i>is Kennedy’s book starring Briar University hockey captain Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli<\/b>) and music major Hannah Wells (Ella Bright<\/b>). Given that Dean and Allie are Garrett and Hannah’s respective best friends, it made sense to Adballa that their arc would be featured in season 1.<\/p>\n

“Allie and Hannah’s story lines are so connected to one another that it just made a lot of sense to touch on that this season,” she told Us<\/i>. “All the books, they build off of each other and they’re all connected. It didn’t really make sense to not include certain elements from the other books in this season.”<\/p>\n

Off Campus <\/i>season 1 ended with Dean asking to monogamously date Allie, who recently hooked up with his high school nemesis Hunter Davenport<\/span><\/a> (Charlie Evans<\/b>). The show has already been renewed for a second season, though it’s not known whether Dean, Logan (Antonio Cipriano<\/b>) or Tucker (Jalen Thomas Brooks<\/b>) will take the lead next.<\/p>\n
