A welfare check led to the scene of a double murder<\/a> in Lexington, and investigators suspect the crime is linked to a home break-in.<\/p>\n

The dead have been identified as Susie Kiger, 51, and Joshua Purvis, 40, and both lived at the home on Cedar Grove Drive, the Davidson County Sheriff\u2019s Office reported in a June 29 news release. Details of how they died have not been released.<\/p>\n

The bodies were discovered around 7:45 a.m. Monday, after someone called 911 to report an individual \u201cclaimed to have broken into the residence and killed two people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDeputies then conducted a welfare check at 48 Cedar Grove Drive … after finding the exterior doors unsecured,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said. \u201cDuring their search of the residence, deputies discovered two deceased adults inside the residence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Deputies also located 38-year-old Cade Addison Hyskell of Winston-Salem in a neighboring yard, and he was arrested on accusations of failing \u201cto comply with deputies\u2019 lawful commands,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n

Hyskell was later identified as a suspect in the killings, and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree burglary, officials said. He is being held without bond.<\/p>\n

An arrest warrant reports Hyskell entered the home \u201cwith the intent to commit a felony.\u201d<\/p>\n

Details of a motive in the killings have not been released.<\/p>\n

\u201cAutopsies will be conducted by the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner at a later date,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n
