Piping hot bagels with one-of-a-kind schmears are headed to Plaza Midwood.<\/p>\n

PopUp Bagels<\/b> will open its second Charlotte location on Friday, July 10, setting up shop at The Commonwealth<\/a> at 1606 Commonwealth Ave., according to a news release sent to CharlotteFive.<\/p>\n

The grand opening kicks off at 8 a.m. and runs until 11 a.m. Customers can expect the brand\u2019s signature hot, whole bagels and rotating menu of cream cheese flavors. This time, PopUp Bagels also teamed up Charlotte\u2019s own Harriet\u2019s Hamburgers<\/a> for a limited-time \u201cGood Good Schmear\u201d inspired by the burger joint\u2019s Good Good Sauce.<\/p>\n

PopUp Bagels made its Queen City debut last fall at The Bowl at Ballantyne<\/a>, marking the first of 10 locations planned for the Charlotte metro.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not a traditional bagel shop where we\u2019re slicing bagels or serving sandwiches,\u201d Todd Gallinek, co-owner of the Ballantyne store, told CharlotteFive at the time. \u201cInstead, the concept is grabbing a bagel, ripping it apart and dipping it into your cream cheese.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alongside schmears that change weekly, the Connecticut-born bagel brand also has flavored butters. Its ultra-popular Brown Sugar Cinnamon Butter<\/a> returned to menus last week \u2014 and it\u2019s here to stay.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter thousands of comments, countless DMs and what we can only describe as a very passionate butter movement … we\u2019ve decided to make things right,\u201d the bagel shop wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n

PopUp Bagels is the latest restaurant slated to open at The Commonwealth.<\/p>\n

In just the last few months, the buzzing retail and dining hub has welcomed Maman<\/a> bakery and caf\u00e9, Sweet Green<\/a>, Japanese restaurants Uchi and Uchib\u0101<\/a> and Harriet\u2019s Hamburgers.<\/p>\n
