Fieri joined Hall of Fame driver Jimmie Johnson<\/a>\u2019s Statesville-based Legacy Motor Club<\/a> as a \u201cstrategic owner,\u201d according to a team announcement Thursday.<\/p>\n

Legacy Motor Club also fields the teams of drivers Erik Jones<\/a> and John Hunter Nemechek<\/a>. The 2027 Daytona 500 will be Johnson\u2019s final race<\/a> before he retires.<\/p>\n

As for Fieri?<\/p>\n

His \u201cinvolvement will extend beyond ownership, with plans for collaborative content, fan engagement initiatives, and licensed merchandise that brings together racing, food, and lifestyle culture,\u201d according to the announcement.<\/p>\n

The team whetted fans\u2019 appetites by promising initiatives involving Fieri throughout the race season.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Johnson said he wants his team \u201cto reach far beyond race day, and Guy\u2019s creativity, energy, and perspective are exactly what this ownership group is about.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is about more than racing,\u201d Fieri said in the statement. \u201cIt\u2019s about creating a brand that connects with fans everywhere, from the track to the table.\u201d<\/p>\n
