Classic smashburgers and fries are on the menu at Charlotte\u2019s newest burger joint.<\/p>\n

Ann Marie\u2019s Gourmet Burgers & Fries<\/b> officially opened May 5<\/a>, offering a mixed menu of wings, burgers, loaded French fries and more, according to social media posts.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s tucked inside the Walmart Supercenter at 9820 Callabridge Court on the city\u2019s northwest side. The space was once home to soul food restaurant SkyView 22, which closed in March<\/a> and now operates as a food truck and caterer, CharlotteFive reported.<\/p>\n

Ann Marie\u2019s is the latest concept from chef Renaldo Norris, who also owns Renaldo\u2019s Culinary Experience<\/a> and Kulture NoDa<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The latter opened in February and specializes in \u201celevated\u201d comfort food classics. Think: shrimp and grits, salmon Alfredo, lobster mac and cheese, gourmet tacos and wings.<\/p>\n

The oxtail pizza \u2014 a 12-inch pie topped with consomm\u00e9, mozzarella cheese, oxtail, peppers, onions and a sweet chili sauce\u2014 is also a crowd favorite.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is light, fun, playful food<\/a>,\u201d Norris told QCity Metro at the time. \u201cThis is not fine dining, but when you see it on your table, you\u2019re going to want to take a picture of it before you eat it.\u201d<\/p>\n

CharlotteFive reached out to Norris for more information on his latest venture and was awaiting a response.<\/p>\n

Ann Marie\u2019s is open every day except Mondays from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.<\/p>\n
