Bad news for breakfast lovers: Bruegger\u2019s Bagels<\/a> and Caribou Coffee<\/a> are closing up shop at Park Road Shopping Center.<\/p>\n

The bakery and caf\u00e9, which share a 4,624 square-foot suite<\/a> in the shopping center, are slated to close later this month, The Charlotte Ledger first reported.<\/p>\n

Their last day in business is Tuesday, May 26, a Caribou Coffee employee confirmed to CharlotteFive over the phone. The reason for the closure wasn\u2019t immediately clear.<\/p>\n

Bruegger\u2019s is best known for its NY-style bagels and \u201cMade in Vermont\u201d cream cheese, while Caribou Coffee serves a range of hot coffees, teas and hand-crafted espresso drinks. Both brands are owned by JAB Holding Company, which acquired Bruegger\u2019s in 2017<\/a>.<\/p>\n

CharlotteFive reached out to EDENS Properties, which owns the Park Road Shopping Center, for more information on the closures and was awaiting a response.<\/p>\n

The Charlotte Running Company is expected to take over the space after Bruegger\u2019s and Caribou, according to The Charlotte Ledger.<\/p>\n
