She was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p>Chicas appeared to be attempting to turn on North Sharon Amity Road when the driver of a Chrysler 300 collided with her vehicle, according to a preliminary investigation. The driver of the Chrysler was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Police said they haven\u2019t yet determined the cause of the crash.<\/p>\n<p>Chicas was an employee at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.charlotteobserver.com\/charlottefive\/c5-things-to-do\/article314205447.html\">Manolo\u2019s Bakery<\/a>, a Latin American bakery in east Charlotte.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[On Sunday morning], while we make our cakes and bread, we are crying over the tragic loss of our young team member, Angelina, in a car accident,\u201d Manolo Betancur, the bakery\u2019s owner, wrote <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DZSn_SRjm2Q\/?img_index=1\">in a statement<\/a> on its social media. \u201cAs my bakers decorate the cakes, they pause, and silent tears fall onto their work tables, showing their grief.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/charlotterelocationguide.com\/?p=1320\">Charlotte doctor sentenced in Medicare fraud case involving millions<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The bakery requested community support for Chicas\u2019 family, including her mother and brother.
