Grammy-winning R&B singer Peabo Bryson, who died at age 75<\/a> on Tuesday after suffering a major stroke, was scheduled to perform next week at Middle C Jazz<\/a> in uptown Charlotte<\/p>\n

In an email sent to ticket holders Wednesday morning, Larry Farber \u2014 founder of the Charlotte jazz club \u2014 said the venue was \u201cshocked and saddened by the sudden passing of our beloved Peabo Bryson.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOur hearts are with his loved ones as we mourn his passing,\u201d the email said.<\/p>\n

Bryson, known for hits including \u201cIf Ever You\u2019re in My Arms Again\u201d<\/a> and duets such as \u201cA Whole New World\u201d<\/a> with Regina Belle, was scheduled to perform four shows at the venue.<\/p>\n

The club announced that the June 13-14 shows<\/a> will instead feature vocalist Mandyl Evans<\/a> performing the music of Teddy Pendergrass, alongside guest singer Robyn Springer. The performances will also include \u201ca dedicated musical segment honoring Peabo Bryson and his music,\u201d according to the venue.<\/p>\n

Ticket holders can either keep their existing tickets for the replacement performances \u2014 with partial refunds automatically issued because of the lower ticket price \u2014 or request full refunds through Etix by June 8.<\/p>\n

Middle C Jazz said ticket price adjustments are expected to range from $45 to $75.<\/p>\n
