Monday morning commuters were met with an unusual sight: a car stuck on the tracks of Charlotte\u2019s light rail.<\/p>\n

The Charlotte Area Transit System first acknowledged the incident at 4:17 a.m. in a post<\/a> on X (formerly Twitter). CATS later posted an update<\/a> at 9:39 a.m., saying normal operations had resumed.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time a vehicle has ended up on the tracks. In 2024, a car became stuck and interrupted service on a route heading toward University City. At the time, the car blocked both the northbound and southbound tracks of the Blue Line at the Institute Circle grade crossing. Service was paused, so passengers could be offloaded while authorities worked to clear the tracks.<\/p>\n

No additional information about Monday morning\u2019s incident has been shared publicly. Online commenters, however, were quick to speculate and crack jokes.<\/p>\n

One viewer wrote: \u201cWhen Monday really starts off the rails.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another commenter claimed: \u201cThey had the lines shut down for like an hour, and they popped the tire trying to get it out on a tow truck. Just South End things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others poked fun at a man seemingly exercising near the scene. \u201cWe just gonna ignore the dude on his back kicking his legs like an overturned bug?\u201d one commenter wrote.<\/p>\n
