An Italian restaurant is closing in Dilworth. Here’s what will take its place.

Change is coming to a familiar Italian restaurant in Dilworth.

What was once Capishe is shifting into Ardente Kitchen, a new concept from the owners of Mano Bella Artisan Foods.

Madison and Raffaele Patrizi have been in the space for a while and are closing the doors on Capishe’s story on Sunday, May 31. Then, they’ll work toward a summer opening of Ardente, pairing a focus on the kitchens of Rome and central Italy with produce from local farms.

“We want Ardente to feel like the kinds of places we love in Rome — energetic, welcoming and deeply connected to both the neighborhood around it and the people behind the food,” Madison Patrizi said in a news release.

Customers can expect organic, handmade pasta, wood-fired pizzas and meats cooked over fire, plus seasonal vegetables and scratch-made sauces.

The restaurant will source flour and other products directly from Italy — where the Patrizi family has a network — and partner with local farmers and producers.

Along with dine-in service, Ardente will also offer family meals and a market filled with imported pantry staples, prepared foods and Italian favorites.

“We’ve always believed that when you start with good ingredients, you don’t need much else,” Raffaele Patrizi said in the news release.

“Compared to Mano Bella, Ardente is a little louder, a little more alive, but it’s still rooted in the same values — handmade pasta, honest cooking and food that speaks for itself.”
