The restaurant will shut its doors Wednesday, Oct. 28, after the owners chose not to renew the lease at the South Boulevard eatery. Co-owners Lamont Heath and Monty “Tigo B.” Faulkner told CharlotteFive they’re looking to go “in a different direction.”
“You’ve been part of our story here — from our early growing pains to so many memories we’ll always carry with us,” they wrote in an Instagram post.
“Thank you for showing up, growing with us, and making this location special.”
In early September, the duo announced the restaurant “will no longer be here at this location,” but didn’t share a confirmed closing date, CharlotteFive reported. In their farewell message, Heath and Faulkner thanked locals for their support but promised “this not the end of Romeo’s.”
“The game plan is to remain in Charlotte and find just another place where we can facilitate that, but there will most likely be some downtime between when we get out of this lease and when we’re moving into a new location,” Faulkner told CharlotteFive at the time.
