Authentic Irish pub, beer garden poised for Pineville debut. When does it open?

A new Irish pub is ready to join the metro Charlotte bar scene and the owners say, “This is as authentic as it gets.”

Front Porch Irish Pub will set up shop in downtown Pineville with plans to welcome customers by late October, the business posted on social media.

Gary Murray, owner of Matthews Social House in downtown Matthews, is behind the new pub concept. Beyond pints of Guinness, customers can expect homemade Neapolitan pizzas and other bites.

There will also be pool tables and a spacious outdoor patio, according to social media.

CharlotteFive reached out to Murray for more information on Monday, Sept. 21, and was awaiting a response.

Front Porch is set to debut more than three years after Murray and his business partner Adam “Jacko” Jackson swung open the doors on their first Irish pub in nearby Matthews.

Housed in an old bike shop, Matthews Social House was inspired by a neighborhood pub in Murray’s hometown of Limerick, Ireland, CharlotteFive previously reported.

“I wanted to create an Irish bar that looks like an Irish bar,” he said at the time. “The draft towers were imported from Ireland. The mirrors and whiskey barrels came directly from my old neighborhood bar in Ireland.”

It’s not clear how the two concepts will differ in terms of food, drinks and overall atmosphere. Murray is seemingly keeping things close to the vest for now, but promised locals there’s “plenty more to come.”

“We’re on the way!” he teased in a recent Instagram post. “Follow along as Front Porch Irish Pub comes to life.”
