911 call leads to a body at apartments, then another is found nearby, CMPD says
An early morning double homicide is under investigation in north Charlotte’s University City area, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

The bodies were discovered around 3 a.m. Sunday at the Ashford Green apartments, along the 9600 block of North Tryon Street.
Identities of the two people have not been released.
“Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon … call in the 9300 block of Kittansett Dr. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim nearby with gunshot wounds,” CMPD said in a news release.

“A second gunshot victim was located down the street. Medic pronounced both victims deceased on scene.”
