Vote for The Observer’s high school football offensive player of the week
Here are the nominees for The Observer’s boys’ high school football offensive player of the week after Week 3 of the season. Nominees come from games played from Sept. 3-4.

Davis Beam, East Lincoln: In a 35-0 win over Newton-Conover, Beam completed 23 of 32 passes for 379 yards and four touchdowns. He ran for another score.
Thailan Bellamy, Lake Norman: In a 49-0 win over West Cabarrus, Bellamy caught eight passes for 151 yards and three touchdowns. QB Kaden Craft, a junior committed to Tennessee, was 12 of 13 passing for 247 yards and four touchdowns.
Noah Belote, Hickory Grove: In a 26-0 win over the Greenville Hurricanes, Belote had 9 catches for 153 yards and 2 touchdowns. He had 1 interception and 9 tackles on defense. In the game, he became the school’s career leader in receiving yards and total receptions. He has 74 catches and 1,070 yards receiving in his career.
Ashton Chavis, AL Brown: In a 28-27 win over Mooresville, Chavis caught nine passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns. He had 51 return yards
Drew Cohen, Cuthbertson: In a 51-37 win over Cox Mill, Cohen rushed 33 times for 356 yards and 3 touchdowns. He set a new single-game rushing record at the school and had the fifth-best performance in Union County history.
Colby Cornelius, Hickory Ridge: In a 54-6 win over South Iredell, Cornelius completed 9 of 16 passes for 198 yards and five touchdowns. He ran three times for 81 yards and a sixth touchdown.
Kingston Curry, Charlotte Country Day: In a 30-6 win over Greensboro’s Ben L. Smith High, Curry caught nine passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns. He had three tackles and two tackles for a loss on defense.
Cade Harris, Langtree Charter: In a 56-28 win over Bonnie Cone, Harris ran nine times for 100 yards, caught five passes for 91 yards and had 132 yards in kick return yardage.
Riley Hicks, Palisades: In an 18-10 win over Clover (SC), Hicks caught three passes for 100 yards and a score.
Devareus Hill Jr., West Charlotte: The freshman QB was 12 for 21 passing for 174 yards and a touchdown in a 20-19 upset win at SC power Summerville (SC) Friday. Summerville was ranked No. 4 in the SC 5A statewide rankings.
Levi Kerr, Marvin Ridge: In a 42-21 win over Ardrey Kell, Kerr was 15 of 21 passing for 288 yards and two touchdowns.
Rashad Lynch, Lincolnton: In a 61-25 win over Cherryville, Lynch was 9 for 9 passing for 269 yards and three touchdowns. He ran nine times for 59 yards and another score.

AJ McClain, Ashbrook: The senior quarterback led his team to a 40-0 win over Northwest Cabarrus Friday. He 9 of 15 passing for 213 yards and four touchdowns. He ran seven times for 93 yards.
JJ Mackins, Hunter Huss: In a 12-6 win over North Meck, Mackins was 13 of 19 passing for 140 yards and a touchdown. he ran 15 times for 120 yards and another score.
Dominic Lisi, East Mecklenburg: Lisi had 102 passing yards, 53 rushing yards and two total touchdowns in a 41-6 win over Garinger.
Wilson London, South Point: In a 19-16 win over previously unbeaten TC Roberson, from Skyland, London made two field goals: a 38-yarder and a 22-yard game winner. He also played left guard on offense.
Lucas Lopez, Cannon School: In a 49-14 win over Raleigh Ravenscroft, Lopez completed 13 of 19 passes for 263 yards and 4 touchdowns, connecting with Marcus Sales for 2 catches, 82 yards and 2 scores. Cannon is 3-0 and outscoring opponents 113-63.
Jamouri Nichols, Chambers: In a 54-14 win over 2A power Corvian, Nichols was 12 of 21 passing for 185 yards and four touchdowns. He ran 10 times for 93 yards.
Kaveuan Pless, South Point: In a 19-16 win over Skyland’s Roberson High, Pless ran 40 times for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Pless had the ball for more than half of his team’s 72 total offensive plays.
Izaiah Sanders, Concord: Sanders ran 13 times for 76 yards and four scores in a 42-0 win over North Gaston.
Miles Vanderspuy, Hopewell: In a 14-0 win over Statesville, Vanderspuy had 26 carries for 234 yards and two touchdowns.
Cooper Wise, Piedmont: In a 35-14 win over East Rowan, Wise ran 26 times for a school-record 282 yards and four touchdowns. Piedmont improved to 2-1 and the offensive line sparked the team to 304 yards total rushing, averaging 9.2 yards per attempt.
